Fashion & Style Contributing

Well Chica's it's about that time. Time to sleep, but before I do, I wanted to let all my readers know about an exciting opportunity that was extended to me via Poshmark. I met an amazing business woman by the name of Conniesa and the owner of The Glam Spot Plus Size Boutique & Consignment, located in Michigan. She reached out without knowing me from a hole in the wall and asked me to write about something her readers were clamoring for and I was happy to accept.

After a tough, hectic semester, I eventually delivered. The post addresses how to identify your body type and how to dress it so that clothing flatters you. I hope to contribute more in the future. So, what are you waiting for?!?! Check out the post, Chica! :)

Sincerely,
A GeekChicChica

Nautical Necessities

Every girl needs a white pair of slacks, right? Right. I have been searching high and low for the elusive pair of white pants that flatter me and are comfortable... and then I found these!

While Poshing, I came across these stark, white pants that are perfect for spring. Along with the amazing stretch in them, that slims me, the cut (boot cut) is perfect for my shape AND can be worn with flats or heels and not look like high waters :) How often do you find the perfect pair of pants? Never, right? Wrong.

I will devastated once I'm much smaller and not able to fit them (sad face), but as of now I am a happy camper.

I also found this Old Navy pinstriped blazer and blue top (formerly a dress... maybe it still is... wink, wink) on Poshmark. I do find the jacket to be a bit snug in the arms, which is odd for Old Navy clothing. Anywho, I went with a nautical theme, which is very classic and sooo my mother's style! She loves this outfit on me (smiling). This outfit would also have worked with a red shoe and handbag. The handbag and shoes are interchangeable for that matter.

I paired it with my Coach bag, some cognac wedges that I also Poshed by Mossimo (Target) and a gold chain.

Sincerely,
A GeekChicChica

This is a different, less expensive handbag, which is equally as stylish and functional (for school).

Gotta love a pinstripe. Automatic class!
Total cost of my outfit (excluding Coach handbag): $54.50

Mix & Match - Lesson 2

Fashion is like canvas, you can put whatever you want on it, but you won't know it's a masterpiece until you take a step back and look at it. The saying, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" most appropriately applies here.

I think that too many people care too much about what other people are wearing and pegging someone else's style as a fashion don't than they actually spend time developing their own, unique style. I'm not one who cares if I commit a fashion "don't", as long as I feel good in what I'm wearing.

In this look, I experimented with mixing colors and patterns. If you just need a rule to follow, I'd say stick with patterns that have a common theme or pick up the accent color in one pattern and repeat it in a solid somewhere else in the outfit.

I love this striped a-line dress in black and white! Snagged it from Old Navy, of course (love that store!). I consider this dress a staple because it is versatile and two of the most classic colors there are (black and white), not to mention comfortable.

It's finally warming up here and I wanted to infuse some color, so I threw on my cropped fuchsia cardigan (also from Old Navy) and a bright yellow belt I bought on eBay... but what shoes???

I completed this outfit with a pair of floral flats I stumbled upon by Xhilaration (via Poshmark). My entire, head-to-toe outfit cost around $38!

Love & Leopard

So, I've been Poshing again, Chicas! Prepared I was to buy some fabulous black Jessica Simpson Mary-Jane style platform heels, but the seller, a friend of mine, couldn't find them :( But it was okay; all was not lost because I got these Leopard beauties instead!

I have been trying to find the perfect leopard heels with a print that didn't look faded or cheap... but my search went on uncompleted until this fateful day!

As soon as I got home I put them on and boy were they comfortable for 5" heels. I was infatuated, sooo in love. I adore leopard!

Check em out... and don't be jealous! Lol

Sincerely,
A GeekChicChica

Fab February Find #18, #19, #20 & #21

Chica's, I've been shopping up a storm online and at the mall... I have a slight addiction to shoes. Just a slight one lol I love all heel heights, most colors, and vintage-esque pumps like the champagne and gold tipped shoes I blogged about earlier today. I'm still swooning over those lovelies. Here are a few pair that I bought on PoshMark this week.

Jessica Simpson - "Fade to Black" Peep Toe Pumps

Suede Guess Pointy Toe Booties

Mesh & Leather Guess Peep Toe Pumps

Nine West Leather Cutout Wedges
I made out like a bandit purchasing the first three pair at 3/$25 on PM and the Nine West Wedges were part of another bundle where I got two pair of shoes for $20 (so they were $10). I did say that I had a slight shoe addiction right? Ok :)

Look what I found on POSHMARK!!! I think I'm a little addicted... no comment lol

This is the gold clutch I was blogging about in my last Fab February Find post... cute right?

I'm still waiting on these in the mail as I just ordered them last night :)

I am a sucker for chandelier earrings and these deep coral earring are to die for.

And these vintage-inspired earrings are my life right now. They are sooo... sexy! I can't wait to dress them up and down and all around.

Oh and did I mention? I got this entire bundle on PM for a whopping $10!!!! Yes, I am a bargain-deal-making diva :)

Fab February Find #9

Can you say Tignanello? Tignanello (pronounced Tan-ya-nell-o or Teen-ya-nell-o) is a brand that I'd never heard of until I spotted the Bespoke on Poshmark and had to have it. Apparently they've been around for a very long time, making some of the most classic handbags I've ever seen. And you guys should know by now that I'm all about classic looks. These bags you can have engraved and personalized if you buy straight from the site www.tignanello.com. This is the bag I bought on Poshmark. I couldn't find this color on the site (making sure I was getting a good deal), but I think the fact that I can't find this red makes it all the more unique.

Tignanello handbags are genuine leather and as I said earlier, if purchased from the site, can be personalized. The Bespoke (Polished Pockets style) is originally $169. They are having a sale on the Bespoke for $99. I paid $75 for mine on Poshmark! That's just shy of $100 off the original cost of an authentic Tignanello.

Here's one in purple, which is also unavailable online.

My Obsession

PoshMark is my new obsession! PoshMark is a nifty online community that lets you shop and sell* some of the  most chic clothing, handbags, shoes, and accessories from closets across the country. It's like Pintrest, Twitter and eBay all in one, but with "layaway". Some sellers will reserve items for you.

The only downside to PoshMark is that I'm not an iPhone user... yet, which you have to be in order to sell. But if you're not selling, you're more than welcome to buy. I'm a die-hard PoshMarker! I've scored a couple good deals and reserved a few things until payday. Check them out and we can all be obsessed!

Would you believe that even though I currently have nothing in my closet, I have almost 350 followers! Don't me the odd chica out. Follow my closet ---> coming soon! https://poshmark.com/closet/heatherlorryn <---

Beckham & Her Birkin

Victoria Beckham is easily one of the classiest celebrities in the media. Her style is classic and sexy. I'm all about classic, timeless style you can wear at any age.

VB definitely rocks it in this white belted jacket while toting a deep red Hermes Birkin. Don't let me find a jacket like this because I will definitely be copy-catting this look. I recently reserved a Tignanello bag in this color off PoshMark (ordering this weekend).

Anywho, I read somewhere that Birkin's weren't "cool" anymore. Whatever! Birkin's are a status symbol, they don't go out of style. Even though only the more wealthy are able to afford them, there are definitely "inspired" (replica) Birkin's that look just as great and are budget-friendly. Authentic Birkin's run anywhere from $5,000 to $12,000 or more.

I suggest that since the Birkin is a very well known handbag you should search for something that is not a replica, but a true inspiration like this handbag from shoedazzle.com. If you don't care that it's a replica, eBay or PoshMark is a good place to start shopping around for a decent price.

Sincerely,
A GeekChicChica

Fab February Find #4

Fab February Find #4

I was surfing PoshMark... yet again, when I came across this hot pink wristlet clutch. I had already told the seller that I wanted a white summer dress from Gap she was selling (which will be styled in a later blog post), then I added this to the bundle. I got both for $20! I'd say that was a pretty sweet deal considering the never-worn Gap dress was $60 retail. I made out like a bandit.

The clutch has a leather-like texture that makes it feel more luxurious and easy to dress up or down. It's the perfect size for a wallet, cell phone, lip balm, and mini-Altoids (which I can't live without btw), etc.

Love it!
